If you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health or symptoms of post-traumatic stress, there are a number of different organisations in the UK offering information, support, or advice:

Organisations for Young People
- Young Minds are the UK’s leading charity for children and young people’s mental health, offering a range of information and support.
- The Mix are a national charity offering a range of support and information for young people aged 13-25.
- The Proud Trust are a charity based in Manchester, offering support for young people in the north-west for LGBT+ young people.
- The Anna Freud National Centre for Children & Families are a national charity supporting children and families, including those who have experienced trauma.
Organisations for Adults
- PTSD UK are a national charity dedicated to supporting all those who have experienced psychological trauma. There is a wealth of information on their website about signs, symptoms, and treatment options.
- Mind are a national mental health charity providing further information about all aspects of mental health, including stress, PTSD and Complex PTSD.

- National Autistic Society are a national charity offering information and advice including information about PTSD for people with autism.
- Scope are the disability equality charity for England and Wales, offering a range of information, including mental health.
- Birth Trauma Association is a national charity supporting women who have experienced PTSD after birth.
- Combat Stress is the leading UK charity for veterans’ mental health.

- The UK Trauma Council are an organisation creating evidence-based resources to improve professionals and carers’ understanding of the impact of trauma on children and young people.
Trauma-Focused Resources
EMDR Association UK are a professional body for clinicians and researchers, providing information about Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing psychotherapy, including a therapist directory.
Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to overcoming trauma, shock, and other stress disorders, developed by Dr Peter A. Levine. Somatic Association UK are a Community Interest Company providing more information on this approach, a practitioner directory and training.
Internal Family Systems UK are an organisation offering more information about parts work, developed by Dr Richard Schwartz, including a therapist directory.
The UK Psychological Trauma Society has further information on getting help for trauma-related difficulties.
